Art, Visual Development & Education
I build coherent visual worlds across fine art photography, digital painting, concept art and hand-pulled printmaking.
I work with collectors, directors, production teams, institutions and individual artists through commissioned artwork, art direction and production design, mentoring, workshops and speaking.
Based in North Wales, UK. Available for selected projects across the UK and internationally.
HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER
ART DIRECTION & PRODUCTION DESIGN
For directors, production designers, show runners and game teams who need a clear visual language for a story, world or production. I help define how a project should feel before that feeling is carried across departments.
Support may include atmosphere, tone and visual-language development; concept visuals for key spaces, characters and narrative moments; keyframes, reference images and ongoing visual direction.
COMMISSIONED ARTWORK
Bespoke fine art portraits are created in my signature Old Masters-inspired visual language. These are studio-made artworks rather than conventional portrait sessions, developed through conversation, references and collaborative mood-building.
I also create narrative images, key art, character-driven scenes, keyframes, book and album covers, campaign imagery and concept art. A limited number of commissions are accepted each year.
EDUCATION & MENTORING
One-to-one mentoring, portfolio reviews, structured programmes, small-group workshops and tailored teaching for universities, academies and creative teams.
Sessions can cover visual identity, portfolio development, creative direction, worldbuilding, composition, Old Masters lighting, painterly retouching and concept development for games, film and long-form projects. The content is adapted to the participant’s goals and medium; it is not limited to photography.
SPEAKING & INSTITUTIONAL PROGRAMMES
Universities, museums, festivals, conferences and creative organisations can book talks, guest lectures, masterclasses and visiting-artist sessions.
Subjects include building coherent visual worlds across media, art direction as affective design, research-led practice, symbolism, visual storytelling and multidisciplinary portfolio development.
A MULTIDISCIPLINARY PRACTICE
Some projects cross several categories. A production may need both art direction and key art. A university may combine a workshop, guest lecture and portfolio reviews. A hospitality client may acquire an existing work and commission a site-specific piece.
