CREATE A PAINTERLY PORTRAIT
From concept to final image. A one-day, small-group masterclass in Wales for photographers who want to create intentional, painterly portraits through concept, art direction, light, styling, shooting and post-production.
You will work with a professional model inside a complete creative production. Set, styling and all materials are included.
FOUNDING PRICE: £500
The first three places will be released at £500. Regular price £650. Limited to six photographers.
ONE IMAGE. THE COMPLETE PROCESS.
Many photography workshops separate the shoot from the edit. This masterclass treats them as one visual process.
You will see how the concept, set, styling and light are built, then photograph the model yourself with direct guidance. We will finish by taking the image from RAW file through the complete painterly edit.
This is not about copying my style. It is about learning how to make every decision serve the image you intended to create.
WHAT WE WILL COVER
01 CONCEPT & VISUAL DIRECTION
Turn a feeling, story or symbol into a workable image concept. Choose references, define the emotional direction and make clear visual decisions before the camera comes out.
02 SET, STYLING & SYMBOLISM
See how wardrobe, props, colour, texture and background are brought together into one coherent frame. The model, set, styling and all creative materials are provided.
03 LIGHT, DIRECTION & THE SHOOT
Learn how I shape painterly light, direct the model and build atmosphere in camera. Then photograph the set yourself with individual guidance on composition, posing, expression and light.
04 PAINTERLY POST-PRODUCTION
Follow the image from RAW file to finished artwork. Work with skin, colour, texture, light and shadow to build depth without losing the human presence of the subject.
THE LIVE FORMAT
One full day in Wales. Limited to six photographers.
A professional model, complete set, styling and all creative materials are included in the price.
You will not simply watch a demonstration. You will photograph the model with guidance on composition, direction, posing and light.
We will then follow the image from RAW file through the complete painterly edit in Photoshop.
Questions and direct feedback are built into the day.
