Lux et Umbra
Between Light
& Shadow
A body of work built on the ancient tension between darkness and illumination. Lux et Umbra draws from Old Masters chiaroscuro, Caravaggio, Guido Reni, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, weaving together tarot symbolism, Jungian archetypes, alchemical and pre-Christian motifs with the visual language of the Italian commedia dell'arte.
Each image despite being digital is constructed as a painting: composed, lit and digitally worked to hold the same depth and surface as a Baroque canvas.
The series was exhibited at Goldenmark Gallery, Katowice and Opole, Poland, under the patronage of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław and the President of Sosnowiec.
Selected works available as limited edition fine art prints.
